Kitty City near Marsing on the Snake

I went to Swan Falls last night and went shooting with my son. We put a couple rods into the water as we target practiced. I managed a decent size channel for the evening and that was it. So, now I wanna go back for more and focus on the fish. Thinking about exploring the river by boat in search of more catfish. I'll probably put in at Marsing. Is it better upstream/downstream? Not looking for the secret spot just a good place to get cats for a fish fry! Thanks for any advice!

ps. lots of weeds and moss! Do I need to find someplace deeper or stay in the main channel?
