I was fishing at a small regional park lake in yorba linda. The newspaper said the DFG had planted trout, so i took my trout gear out to see what i could do. I put chartruese powerbait on my small treble hook, and casted out. I set my rod down, and went to put a bobber on the line between the eyes of my rod to see any play that might occur. I pulled the bobber down, and it slowly went back up. Pulled it down, and up it went again, real slow. I thought maybe a current might be messing with my bait. So i pulled it down, and it popped back up hard. So i took it off, tightend my line, and then set the hook. This was a big trout. I could feel the power in this trout and knew it was big! I fought it for 20 minutes. The only thing was - it didnt jump, which kind of surprised me. I got it up to shore, and my "big trout" ended up being a 13lb ugly catfish. Who would have thought that catfish would eat powerbait....well they do.
