I suspect that the coarse after he was out of the boat would have been fairly straight whereas when you're in the boat you tend to adjust coarse fairly often so you could probably check the GPS track and figure out approximately where he quit driving.. But it's a big pond to try and find him in even with a good idea where to start. I'm sure a little good luck would sure help them out... Prayers are with the searchers and family... Later J
