That whistle idea is pretty good. In fact, I've carried one in the cup holder for years. Today I tied it to my PFD, and worn the thing all day. I'm waiting for the new auto inflatable I ordered yesterday, meanwhile, I just bought 2 NEW jackets 2 weeks ago at Costco. $39.99 each, and I think they will do the job if needed. But they aren't anywhere as comfortable as an auto inflatable. I was tempted to take mine off today, but I didn't. I even had my kill lanyard hooked to my jacket today.
