You make a good observation, but as Jeff points out - you can always beat yourself and improve your personal score. I could have predicted before we started that it will take 30" or + to take the whole thing, and team scored below 26 will probably get bumped off the leader board. What I'm impressed by is that this early in the season, we've already hit that threshold.
And I've not yet begun to fight! Usually make it out a few more times by this time of year, but life, weather, etc. Once I get floating the action should pick up for me.
But there's more of our local CV anglers pulling in big cats. Now THIS guy did lay his against a tape. So mark another (unofficially) at the 30 inch mark

I still wanna see more Refuge Kitties, some of our mates find some pretty burly cats from the lower end of the Bear.
