Thanks for posting that pic. That size right there isn't terrible. You can fillet them or scale/de-head and fry them whole. In my house it depends on the kids. I like them whole. My kids like "fish sticks." If the crappie are as thick as everyone is finding, a healthy harvest would help a little. Crappie are very prolific. I believe a mature female produces somewhere around 30-40K eggs during spawning. Even though a lot of those don't survive, if you aren't harvesting enough, they will stunt. A lot of people where I grew up would not put crappie in their ponds because of this. You needed lots of predators OR heavy harvest.

Hopefully with this weather we will see some safe ice on PV soon.
