Look at some of the new fishing Kayaks as well. I have been reading about some of the Hobbies and the pro angler is like 38 inches wide and a twin hull which would make if very stable. It is just expensive.
As far as motors go remember you will have to register it as a boat if you put a motor on it.
I have a scadden H3 float tube and I have been very happy with it so far. I have to take it up and test out the warranty though. The material has came out form the hulky valve and seam is came unglued where the inflation tube goes into the seat.
