Dregs
I use a spring strike indicator on both of my trout fishing ice poles. It makes a huge difference in being able to see the bite and yet still having a pole that is built to handle a good size fish. These same poles have been used when I take friends with me that don't have there own gear and we chase the perch and the crappie. Plus when fishing for the perch I have caught trout on the same jigs and lures and it makes it so that those friends don't have to worry about breaking the fish off. I personally think its a must have for the lite bite.
P.S. I pretty much always fish in an ice shack with a heater going so I haven't had freeze up issues. If you are fishing outside a lot then I would say you will be fighting ice the whole time. Just figured I would put that in there.
