Inherited Boat help

Depending on the type of gunnels you have, these are the two entry level riggers I'd recommend. This is the type I have:

But if you have room this clamp on type is even cheaper but again, it will not work on every boat:

As far as a trolling motor, for now you would be fine trolling with your big motor, depending on how slow it will troll down to. If it does not troll slow enough a trolling plate is the way to go. That being said, I would consider upgrading at some point to either an electric bow mount trolling motor or a gas kicker or both. The gas kicker would be my first upgrade, because by using one you are not putting undue hours on your main motor and it will get better gas mileage. If you are fishing just for trout or kokanee that will likely be all you need but if you ever decide you want to go slower and fish for warm water fish, then at some point you might want to get an electric trolling motor. For trolling I use level wind reels and I prefer the ones that have line counters, so I know how much line I'm putting out and can get my lures back to that same place in the water, if I start catching fish. Lead core line is another useful tool, if you can't spend the amount a downrigger cost to get started. Again I like level wind reels but you don't need a line counter when using lead core line because it has colors on the line, so you will know how much line you are letting out.
Sounds like you need to go to Sportsmans warehouse, they are usually very helpful but there are other smaller stores that sell the items you need that I'm sure can help you. That being said, check out the many pages of on this board, there is a lot of helpful info here. I hope this helps, good luck.
