Back Country Sonar

Now I wasn't very good at my electrical design stuff, but if your ff is a 12V system and the batteries are 3.7V do you put 3 in series to come up with approx. 12V and is that close enough to keep your electronics running without frying them? I'm probably not smart enough to take a chance on making that work, but I'll bet if I was smart enough to do it, it would work great!!! Afraid I better stick with a regular 12V power supply... Thanks for the tip though... J
