Couple of comments after reading through the thread, Goal Zero is great for the weight, I have a goal zero and aspect solar set of panels and prefer the goal0 since they do a USB out so you don't necessarily have to have a battery pack and can plug it right in to the device. Used them back packing in the winds and Yellowstone without a problem. Highly recommend them since you can use your phones gps and a couple map apps to track things and as a camera. Can keep things charged no problem with them. Should be able to get a setup that's light and keeps a finder charged also.
As far as goldens and what they like? Shoot that is rough but some of your traditional patterns tend to do the best. Royal Wolf, Adams, Renegades, and depending on the time of the year there is a big stone fly hatch (size 4 stimulator imitates it perfect) if you're in the winds that goldens pound. Mohair leaches and scuds on a sink tip are top producers also.
