One more GIANT point I would like you to think on! 50 to 100 years ago Utah valley and the Salt Lake valley were FULL of farms. Evil, water wasting farms! Fast forward to the present day and all those farms have been turned into subdivisions and strip malls and industrial complexes. So how come we are worse shape water-wise??? The amount of farming and ranching happening within the Salt lake and Utah valleys is miniscule compared to a few decades ago. So who is using the water?
I invite you to come to our ranch and see what we do to be responsible and caring stewards of the land, grass and water. My family has ranched this land since 1860. Our historical total moisture in a year in less than 13 inches. Don't you think we would of gone out of business 100 years ago if we didn't work with the land and nature instead of against it like most of the people who live in cities do? The invite is open to any of you all who might like to get an up close look at what ranching actually looks like everyday. I take great pride in providing groceries to Utah, America and the world. And I am proud of how I do it.
gmwahl, come on out and we can fry up a few Utah lake catfish. They are easy to catch right now as they walk past my house carrying a suitcase headed for Lake Powell.
