[#0000FF]In an earlier post, on another thread (I believe) I cited an example from personal observation. Several protected coves on Saguaro Lake, in Arizona, were subject to large blooms of this blue-green algae. My wife and I visited one of these coves to go fishing, after the bloom had subsided and blown out. But there were thousands of dead little clams floating on the surface...and there were ABSOLUTELY NO FISH in that entire cove. And it took over two years for any numbers of fish to return to that part of the lake.
They have also experienced some real damage along the Florida coast this year from similar outbreaks. Millions of dead fish and other wildlife. It even killed a bunch of air breathing manatees when they inhaled the junk while coming up to breath.
