Wiper Trolling Lures
#1
[cool][#0000ff]Since I am now a boater, and plan to drag some lures for wipers and wallies (maybe troutskis too), I have been adding to my arsenal of trolling lures. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Since most fish respond best to contrasting colors, and are especially fond of whites, with red, blue or black backs, those are the colors I have used most. I also use a lot of glitters and some prism tape. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The three attached pics show the three basic types of lures I have made...spoons, lipless crankbaits and blade lures. All of these perform well when trolled (or retrieved) at the higher speeds usually favored by wipers.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I have not added hooks for the pics, but I use mostly Eagle Claw 575 2X strong nickle treble hooks. I also rig some with large single hooks...usually spinner bait hooks. I leave some plain and "decorate" others with feathers, hair and/or synthetics...like flashabou or Krystal Flash.[/#0000ff]
