fish lake
#1
I want to make a fish lake trip early next week. I don't know anything about it though. Do I need to take my snowmobile? Where is a good spot to start ? I'm looking for perch only.

We were there Wednesday , the ice was 30 in. Thick and hardly any snow . Walking was easy but the snowmobile was great . Fishing was slow but the pech fishing was fast . .used a small getsit tube tipped with chub and gulp maggots fish ed in 15 ft of water . Once the fish came in all you need is a small tube tipped with anything . Jigs an inch or so we're doing the job .
We did get a few rainbows but not many .

So no snow on the ice huh? Without any snow taking my snowmobile wouldn't be a good idea. It would do more harm than good to my track.

if you only want to fish for perch, then I see no reason to take a snowmachine. You don't need to go across the lake to find perch. Perch are plentiful on the highway side of the lake.

There was enough snow for the snowmobile but not so much it was miserable .
