I am new to the area coming from San Diego Ca. I have read that Lincoln bay on the Utah Lake is a good place to fish. I have a kick boat and wonder if the water is warm enough to take it out into the water. Also, I am looking to find others that enjoy fishing like I do so if anyone is interested in joining up please let me know. I am retired and have been fishing for a very long time, most my life. I do enjoy a bit of competition just for the fun of it. We now live in West Jordan so Please PM if interested.

Depends on your tolerance I guess I have been wading in the area fishing for walleye. The water is still cold but tolerable. I also live in West Jordan. Welcome to BFT.

Welcome to Utah.I love San Diego just got back from there a month ago took the family did some fishing there.you will soon find out that Utah has some good fishing(try fly fishing if you can) but it's nothing like pulling in a nice yellowtail.Willard Bay is also a great place to try out to.

Thank you for your response I use to fish san diego bay about 2x a week and enjoyed it very much. Never know what your about to bring in. As far as fly fishing, I have a fly pole and all sorts of flies, however at my stage of learning I still look like Elmer Fud in a wind storm. I have plucked out a few browns after many hours of casting. Bass fishing at Dixon lake in Escondido is a very good spot for large bass. I am eager to hit the water in my kick boat and see what I can do here. I drove to Strawberry Rev. a few days ago but it was iced over still. Hit DC from the shore, no luck but will try again soon.

Strawberry still has a month or 2 before ice off.I have a pontoon that I love to use and not this week but next in going to hit Willard for some wipers and crappie.another great place to go is pineview.

[#0000FF]Welcome to Utah. As we discussed on the Float Tube forum, I used to do a lot of fishing in the San Diego area and often miss it. But Utah has some great tuber friendly ponds too.
I am in the process of rewriting the CD/book I did on Utah Lake about 10 years ago. Here is a map pack from that edition. Shoot me a PM if you would like more info on any specific area and I will send you something. Better yet, I live in Taylorsville...not too far from you. You would be welcome to visit my playroom sometime and do some semi serious BSing...about San Diego and/or Utah fishing.

Wow, you sure sent a lot of very good information which will be saved and reviewed many times. I would LOVE to come by and see you and your play room. I will be out of town as my wife informed me that it is again time to go to the casino for some play time. She more than deserves it after tax time! I too miss San Diego bay and you never really know what you will catch there. Once I was fishing under the bridge in my float tube, one pole in my pole holder trolling and casting with the other. My trolling pole hooked onto a big fish and shot out of the holder like a torpedo from a PT boat, never saw that pole again. Now I keep a leash on every pole! I will be contacting you in a few days and thank you for your information that you sent, but more important for your kindness that you have shone.
