Decided to give Willard Bay a break, or at least try another body of water. Went up to Skunkedagain's home pond. Was a beautiful day, calm, NO BUGS, no other boats until later, and that one headed north and didn't see it again for a couple hours. Got some of my waypoints reset in the new sonar. Just putt-putted around here and there. Drowned worms in several spots, no joy. Got over to the west side where the first irrigation slough feeds off, dropped anchor in about 3 fow, put out 2 wormed up hooks, kicked back with a fresh cup of coffee, and just got comfortable and first rod went "Bendo". Cool ! A Big Carp. Was hoping to boat one to cut up for bait. Barely got that big momma ( I know it was a momma cuz today is Mothers Day, and it was full of eggs when I opened her up later) barely got her in the boat and second rod started a short bump, run, bump, run, then ziiiinnnng, headed for Idaho.......another big momma, but a Momma Cat this time. (yep she was full of eggs too) She accepted my invite for a fresh Catfish dinner which I am going to go cook here in just a bit.[fishin] Posting both of these to the Catfish Contest. Not the biggest, but gets me started on the board anyway. Took the bump board photos on the tailgate of my truck, then stopped at Willard north on the way home and used the cleaning station so all I had to tote into the house was a couple zip lock bags.

Nice job Forest, glad you got some nice ones. Those cats that size give a good fight. Perfect size for eating as well. Did you get the cat on worms or carp chunks? Seems like the cats have switched to carp for me lately. Well thanks for the report. J

[#0000FF]Yeah, team. Now that you don't stink like skunk you can plan a trip to Utah Lake for some bigger fish.
Lemme know when you can make it down and I'll see if I can join you and lend some immoral support. Maybe we can get BLK and a couple of other cat chasers to join in and have some kind of gorilla floatilla.

Nice, good to see there is more than mud cats in there this year. That's all my granddaughter caught the other day.

Jeff, yesterday I was hoping to pick up a carp I could use for bait. That one is now in the freezer for a trip to UL next month with the wife hopefully. So all I had was the dozen worms I got at the Maverik on the way out. Got both of those on worms. For awhile I thought I was gonna have to settle for a few mudders to turn into bait, but sat down over that deep hole near the bridge and didn't get even a nibble. That's when I moved back up the west side to the first slough. Had a bigger circle hook on my heavy rod (one I rig for cats) and that's the one the Carp hit. The Cat was on a lighter rod, with a #1 barbed shank bait hook.
Anyway boated them both. The Cat was good eatin last night. [fishin]

Pat, I just conformed what days in June the wife will have off work for her vacation. We are planning to make a trip to UL sometime during the week between 19th and 23rd. But not firmed the dates yet. I will let you know once we get it settled. I think a small UL Flotilla would be fun. Be great to meet up with you, maybe Tube Babe also, and BLK.
