Mantua 5/21

Got up early this morning and went to Manaway. I was afraid it was going to rain but thank goodness the weather cooperated. Fish didn't really want to play though.

Had one bite early on but couldn't bring it in. Finally by the time I was ready to come back home and on the worst cast of the day I got a fat 13 inch LMB. I had senko worm on and I got it stuck on a branch, it was half way in the water. Naturally I start janking on the line trying to get the hook lose. The worm is plashing a little bit and boom! The fish jumped and smacked the worm. That took care of the problem as the fish swam away with the worm and hook in her mouth.

It was pretty rough overall. Saw another fish caught.

It was for sure a tough day. They seem to like the spinner bait and senko today since I caught a 14 inch and 16 inch, both released. There was tons of shore fishermen today since there was a bass shore tournament only. The winning length of the three biggest bass was 46 inches in total.

Went there yesterday and got skunked. We didn't see one person catch a fish on lures but there was an older asian guy who limited out on LMB using night crawlers. We're usually not into using bait for bass but that's what they seemed to love. Note to self: take night crawlers just in case!

The water is very high, the highest I've seen it there. Once the bluegill move into the shallows, the fishing should pick up.

Didn't really noticed that many shore fisherman. I was there early though.

My 13 incher was also released.
