Windy Lincoln
#1
Took my crew out today at Lincoln. Big waves coming from the north, wind blowing from the south?? Launched and fished in the sheltered area south of the launch. Caught several catfish there and finally decided to fight the waves in front of first spring. Tough... could not stay anchored in one spot because of the waves. Cats were still biting and we caught several in the 25 to 27 inch range.

Have a hook-up with Tube Dude tomorrow so hoping for better weather.

BLK,

You need to be named the Catfish Whisperer. You seem to always be reporting on catching nice cats from LB. Every time I go, I don't catch a thing.

Just once, I want to go and catch some nice catfish. What can I do to improve my chances?

Thanks!

Gotta love the wind on that lake, I've been headed to the island and had to turn around cuz of the wind and waves, get to the orchards and just alittle breeze with no waves, always like a ripple seems to make fishing better.
good luck with TD tommoro[Wink]

"good luck with TD tommorow"

[#0000FF]He will probably have better luck without me. I messed up my knee again doing yardwork today. It's hell growing old...but considering the alternative...?[/#0000FF]

Pat, not good news. Hope it won't keep you from our meet up on the 21st.

[#0000FF]Hoping it's okay by then. I took two steps at a time down from a ladder a couple of weeks ago and got a bit of a twist. It was just about better for the planned trip Tuesday and then I overdid some yard work today.

Actually, the nature of the injury is such that I can kick around in my float tube okay...like I did last week at Lindon. But standing or walking on it for any length of time becomes painful.

Might need to just jack up my old body and put a new one under it.

Gonna try for another trip with BLK next week, so I can find out where he has all the 36 inchers tied up. Then I'll meet up with you and your bride on the 21st and show you his fave spots. Heck, we might even get him to join us and show us some top secret ones.

Bummer on the knee Pat... we'll make that hookup eventually. I'd like the chance to meet Forest and his better half on the 21st so if we don't make it next week I'll invite myself to fish with you and Tin Can then.

I'll probably be out again tomorrow with my crew. Keeping up with these young'uns is starting to catch up with me. Hard to pass up a trip when the cats are so active.

The area in front of the first spring is loaded with cats now. A piece of carp or wb either on a bobber or on the bottom will usually produce consistently. We usually anchor up in 4-5 ft. of water and cast all directions. Haven't been out to the island for a while but I'll bet it is very good there too.

I'll be in my grungy old Tracker near the first spring tomorrow. Plenty of room there so would welcome anyone fishing nearby to give a hello.

Very good weather today until it got too hot. We did well on the cats again with several 26 -27 inchers and one that was just shy of 29 inches and 11 pounds. Will probably enter it in contest even though it will only boost my score 1/2 inch. Every little bit helps.

Carp were everywhere so netted a half dozen for bait before we left.

You guys are doing great work! I hope you are having great fun too! That one was really black!

Dave wants to go again Friday, so I may see you out there then. The forecast is for stiff southerly winds. It might be a bit bumpy, but the point should still be accessible. At least that is what I will tell myself until Friday morning gets here!
