Mantua 6/4/2017
#1
My wife and I fished Mantua Sunday from 11:30 to 2:00 caught our limit of trout, Some 12-13 inches but mostly 15-16 inches. Had some slip the hook and some break offs. Very nice trip catching some nice fish. One of the fish had a senko on a worm hook inside of it half way digested.

THanks for the report. I have an upcoming trip a week from tonight with a friend and his boys. I want so badly to have them experience some good tugs. Mantua was on my short list of a place to take them. This report give me another reason for that place. I've only fished there once, right off the rocks next to a place you can park. I've heard there is a walking path all along the res. My friend is blind and has a poor heart so he walks with two canes (his long white one because of his vision impairment and another one for stability). Is there a user-friendly spot to park and access the shore without too much climbing? I will look on Google Maps. . .

Glad you have a great time.

You can drive up by the boat ramp and let your friend out and it would be a short walk to the rocks just north of the boat dock. Then park down by the restroom. The walk from the northeast parking to the fishing dock isn't very far either. Good luck and more importantly have fun.

The northeast fishing dock also has shade and flowing water from the inlet. Both plusses.
