This report is coming a little late fished the Gorge on 6/10. But I wanted to share my results from my trip. We launched out of Lucerne and where out on the water on by 7:00 am. Decided to go over by pipe line. Fishing was great and consistent as long as we were below pipe line anything above pipeline we didn't find much success. Fish were being caught from 19 feet to 50 feet. We then deiced Then we headed over to the Sheep creek area and fishing was just as good there.
One thing I did want to bring up in my report was the tackle I was using. I went to the sportsmans expo when it was here. I spoke with the owner of Kokanne Creek tackle and got some tips from him. He told me to always put a bend in the middle of your dodger. I have always had better success with pop gear and wedding ring at the gorge. But as soon as I tried putting the bend in the dodger it was night and day difference and was catching more fish than pop gear and a wedding ring. Now this might be common knowledge to a lot of people on here but I was unaware of this technique. Also the color of squids varied between pink and orange.

I'd say a least 6 people, he must have been on a pontoon boat[:/].
Some of them are some nice sized kokes. While it is common knowledge about bending a dodger, to get more action out of them, it is not always talked about, however it has been mentioned numerous times on this site, over the years.
There were 5 of us on the boat.
If you want to catch bigger kokes use bigger bait/hooks, I switched to size 2 koke lures and caught bigger fish, 5 of ours over the weekend were over 3 pounds. I will still keep a smaller koke if it hits, they are just as good in the smoker as a big one, plus they tend to die if you release them.

I've never bent my dodgers. Do you just bend them in the middle or is there another way? How much do you bend them?

My apologies everyone I don't want people thinking I am a poacher. My post was already getting long so I didn't include the part that in transition from going to pipeline to sheep creek we stopped and switched a couple buddies out and picked up the kids and wives out at Lucerne. Lesson learned...

Just Ignore the Internet poach police on this site, you don't need to explain yourself.
you know the limit and the laws,I like to think that the large majority of this site is true sportsmen that aren't into poaching, and if they were they're not dumb enough to post pictures of it.

If you are using dodgers that are cupped on the ends you don't need to bend them, if your dodgers are flat with little or no cup you may want to bend them a little. Put a little bend in middle and run them along side of your boat so you watch them, bend them 'til the action looks good, then send them down to see what the fish think.
