Wellsville pond

Hey has anyone heard anything about how the wipers are doing in wellsville?

The pond was closed the week before last to adult fishing as a lead up to the kids fishing derby on 6/10. I walked around the pond on 6/11, and spoke with a guy in a float tube. He said he could see some fish, but he hadn't seen any wipers. I saw one trout from the bridge.

The pond is choked with weeds almost all the way around the pond from any shore access point. The weeds are even piled on top of the water as much as 6". I don't know how the kid's fishing derby went, but between the event fishing and the cormorants perched on deadwood just north of the bridge, I would think the wipers are going to be few and far between.
