another great day on strawberry , fish were anywhere from 5 feet to 30 feet deep ,best combo was again the rmt sunrise dodger with a orange super squid ,trolled at 1.6 mph. put 11 in the boat and lost a bunch today (it could have been the bananas one of my guest brought ) mixed in a bunch of cutts and beautiful weather made for a really fun day .Click image for larger version.

[font "Calibri"]Looks like you’re getting them all dialed in for the DAV, nice!!!! I was headed up to the Berry yesterday and had a bit of bad luck myself. At 04:00 just as we were cresting the hill looking over Echo reservoir I look back and see sparks flying out my trailer hub. I think I must have thrown a dust cap because the side on the boat was covered in grease and she was glowing red. Spent the entire days running for parts instead of smacking the Kokes... loosing a dust cap is a sure sign of a bad bearing .

Yep I'm really excited for the DAV and hoping that the Kokanee fishing stays as good as it is right now. As far as the dust cap goes I believe that was operator error. One of the things I do before any kind of distance trip is check bearings. I pulled caps the night before and gave it a couple squeezes of grease and I'm guessing I didn't get the cap seated properly. Preventative maintenance cost me over $400 yesterday[:/]

it already had a bad bearing before you left the drive ,doing the bearing would save the axle though
