Thinking about trying Willard next Tuesday with a family member, with it being an early midweek day it should be pretty quiet I would think?

I'm sure there will be some traffic at certain times of the day (late afternoon, early evening), but it should be fairly slow in general.

Kind of what I was thinking too. I guess the better question is, how bad are the dang bugs? [signature]

School is out and it's hot. There will be power squadron types. You should be fine before about 10 am, though.

Wouldn't the adult types be at work? [signature]

As far as I can tell "work days" seems to be a rather fluid concept lately. There isn't a day when I can't see some people out recreating who ought to be at work. On the lake or on the golf course, I see them even mid-week.

As was already mentioned, early in the day you will mainly find fisher folks out there, the later in the day it gets, the busier it will get, with the evening being the busiest, as people get off work.

went to willard yesterday, arrived at 7:00 am, only one other boat in the parking lot at that time. small breeze most of the day so the bugs were not too bad, take plenty of water to drink, its really hot out there, took me seven hours of trolling to catch three wipers but it was still a fun day.

Midges mostly burnt off. Watch out for the deer and horse flies. They chew hunks. Mosquitoes haven't been too bad yet. As other said, early it's pretty quit, competition builds as the day goes on. Give it a shot and have fun.

Bring your own window squeegie like those at the gas station!
It will come in handy when your headed back to the launch so you can see through your windshield. The positive part is you don't need to bring lunch just open your mouth and go full throttle for 5 minutes. [signature]
