East Canyon Stinker
#1
Got skunked at East Canyon today. Was fishing for smallmouth only, and couldn't find them. Had two little bumps on my plastics, but no takers. It was 45° when I arrived and the water was 65°, both rose a bit until I left. The water was 181 ft deep in the channel near the dam buoys, the deepest I've ever seen it there - and there's about six inches of water going over the spillway.

Had my eyebrows raised at the ramp when I saw a big powerskiboat being pulled out - by a Tesla sedan. A Tesla? With a trailer hitch? Whoa.

Great day, lots of pedaling exercise. Just no fish tacos tonight.

Sure was. After all the roaring pickups, it was WEIRD when that Tesla smartly hauled its mini-yacht up the ramp - in dead silence.

Trout fishing from shore wasn't much better. Three of us caught 1. Water must be warming?

I was there for five hours and even though I didn't keep too hard a watch at the other boats, I never did see a fish landed.
