Mantua closed Saturday

Just a heads up, mantua reservoir will be closed this Saturday for a wakeboard competition, I heard it will cost $9 just to spectate, just hoping to save some disappointment and a wasted trip,

Mantua sucks right now anyway. I just fished it Monday and it looks like split pea soup with the thick algae and we fished it all over for half a day(until noon) and never even got a nibble. We were fishing from a boat and we saw no other boats or shore anglers catching any or reporting any bites.

Yup, I fished it last week and got only a few half-hearted tugs from bluegill and bass. The water is heavily flocculated.

You need to take the duck feet off your kayak and use your paddle [] . I fished it this afternoon in the moss and shallows and caught a few fish, 12 bluegill and 2 bass. Black poppers on a floating fly line.

Also, get into the pond around the hill on the east side with some topwaters and watch the bass attack 'em.
