So I know that they have the restriction for under 10hp, but is this just for the motor you are actively using or the biggest motor installed even if you are not using it? I ask because I may haul the Lund down for our family trip this week. My original plan was to take our smaller boat with a 9.9 on the back but haven't had time to get it set up, plus the Lund is safer for kids. So if I take the Lund and am only using the kicker and bow mount(aside from launching/loading) on the water, is it going to be an issue? We will also be fishing Electric, but wanted to go after some bigger tigers at Mammoth.

Hey Fish Hunter, you can use your kicker only no problem. I do it every time I go there. Just as long as you dont fire up the Big Horse you'll be fine. I've even been checked as I was leaving the ramp and no mention was made of the Big 4-stroke. Good luck with the tigers they sure are fun.

The kicker doesn't have reverse, is anyone going to yell at me if I use the main motor just for unloading? I have no intention of blasting across the water(hardly even do that on bigger lakes) and would much rather use our smaller boat, but just haven't had time to get it ready. I may just call the DNR to clarify.

I have used my big motor for loading and unloading each time and its never been a problem. I believe they just dont want you blasting down the lake with it. If you notice there is no mention of it in the proclamation, its in state watercraft restrictions so depending on who you talk to at the DNR it might be tough finding someone who could give you an informed answer. Hope this helps.
