I has wanting to take one of my sons fishing tonight. We will be fishing from shore. I was thinking Willard or Utah lake. My concern is that he really enjoys catching more then fishing. Any tips or advice for either one or different idea where to go would be greatly appreciated.

For catching sake I would say the Uintas or the fish farm

I don't know of any catfish water in the Unitias. All that I have caught in the Unitas is Hatchery Carp.

Hope you got out and caught some cats.... I assumed you were bank fishing, if so, Willard would probably be good... I haven't been out enough lately to offer a good location, but off the dike east of the south marina seemed to be fairly good a month or so ago... Good luck... J

I personally enjoy willard park with is near Utah lake. You only have to pay a fee if you camp but there are not a ton of places to fish from the shore but if you get one of the spots it normally does really well.
I like to use a crochet hook to thread a hotdog onto a treble hook or using chicken liver does great too and its cheap but its hard to stay on the hook. If anyone knows how to keep them on the hook better I would like to know!

if you bag livers in the old ladies pantyhoes you can put a hook through and it stays on, personally i prefer dip bait these days
