Flaming Gorge Quick Trip
#1
Decided to take a quick trip to Flaming Gorge last Thursday evening. We fished Friday all day and then Saturday morning. We were targeting Kokes and found them to be a little picky. We did manage to get a couple, one still all silver and the other was quite pink. Both were delicious and had very firm meat...I did not notice any difference at all between the taste of the two fish. I actually cleaned both of the Kokes on the boat and immediately got them on ice...maybe this helped...

The laker pups were very active. We caught probably 25-30 while trolling for Kokanee. We marked a lot of fish pretty consistently both days at depths ranging from 40-150 feet. We fished mostly between 50-100 feet and caught the Kokes at 56 and 88 feet on green UV and silver UV dodgers and green and orange squids. All of the lakers were also caught with dodgers and squids in just about every color. We fished Horshoe Canyon and near Kingfisher Island. The weather was beautiful both days with very little wind. It was a great trip.

I'm jealous, you did much better than we did the weekend prior.
