Fish lake tips - first timer with grandpa

We're going to fish lake today for what could be one of my grandpa's last trips out - he's getting up there in years and it's tougher to get him out. We've always wanted to fish fish lake. We'll have a pontoon boat. Any tips for a first-timer?
