With the colder weather coming on, I was wondering how much it affects the bite at UL. I don't get to go up very often, and I have some opportunities to go up this next month, so I'd be interested to hear people's experiences fishing UL later in the fall.

Now that the water temps are coming down, fishing for the bigger fish will be good, not sure what your after, if you have ever gone after the walleyes in the spring, fish the same spots, the biggest difference is the fish will be feeding more in the day time, if you like fly fishing, the white bas will be coming up for midges morning and at night, look for those areas where you can see them surfacing there will be cats and eyes around. fishing should be good from now until the water temps be low 45 deg, still good the just have to slow your presentation down more.
good luck

[#0000FF]Good info from the last guy.
If you are after cats, I typically catch some of my biggest fish in October. Fishing slows as the water cools but the larger fish feed more actively during the daytime. Fish big baits and cover a lot of water to find the fish.
