Starvation - A bit on the chilly side
#1
I decided to give Starvation a try today. The last time I went it was August 1st and hotter than you know what. It was a much different day today. It started off in the 30's at 7:30 and with a little early morning chop on the water it had me getting out the winter wear. I fished from my tube using a medium sinking line and a size 8 bead head olive leech. I picked up two 11" - 12" smallmouths and one 17" rainbow in the first hour and it was all downhill after that. I fished until 3:00 and ended up with three 17" rainbows and four 11"-13" smallmouth. The water temperature was 57-61 degrees and the visibility in the water of between 4' - 8" depending on where you were on the lake. The reservoir level is still 80% full and stable for now.

The fishing was slow for me today but I'm sure it will pick up as the fish decide that winter is not far off and put on the feed bag.[Wink]

TopH20 and [#0000ff][/#0000ff]TubeDude were doing some fishing of there own and stopped by to make sure I hadn't froze up. They were going to go out again tomorrow so I'm sure when Pat gets back home he will be filing a much more detailed report on there success.

[#0000FF]Hey Tom, it was good seeing you again...even if it was under cool circumstances. We did better after we went to Bunny Gulch. You probably would have killed them there in your usual spots. Rainbows were active and kept smacking our walleye stuff.

There was ice on the boat cover this morning but it warmed up nice. Will be posting a report later.
