There are many ways to rig your shore/surf/bait casting leaders. I like the way i do mine. It's easy, fast, simple & has held almost every hit i've ever had. Of course huge/toothy fish to line snags will happen. GT's have sharp scutes & sharks have rough skin that also require the use of a added rub line in the leader.
Of course you can modify this system to match your location, choice of line, species targeted or just to reflect your fishing style. Nothing is written in stone. When i do go out in the field to test new ideas & equipment i always stress safety above everything. Some areas i fish either day or night can be dangerous & far out of the public's eye. I always let someone i know where i'll be that day.
