farmington bay and bountiful pond
#1
Took the kid out this morning duck hunting (I know this isnt a duck board), We got to the Farminton bay parking lot at 5 am and started out along the dike road. as we walked along the dyke we could see carp moving about a little but it was the no fishing area. A mile and a half in we found a good spot and waded through a shallow channel and found a nice pond. We hunkered down in the marsh only a couple ducks one went down by our friend and one lonley goose flew over but didnt go down. After 5 hours and not much action we packed it back to the truck. We then went over to Bountiful pond to drown some worms. We hung out for 2 hours and not a single bite and not a single fish rose BUT! we saw a half dozen geese we couldn't shoot at and a couple diver ducks stopped by to taunt us that we couldn't shoot them. So yes we went home empty handed but a great day out with the kid and he handled it like a champ for a 13 year old.

Hunting and fishing are like a trip to a Soviet-era market -- no guarantees you'll get anything except a long wait.

I used to have pretty good "cast and blast" ddays, starting at Farmington Bay but then taking my grandson or young neighbor boy to Kaysville ponds for the fishing after sometimes shooting a duck or two....I've done good at Bountiful pond before, but its been thru the ice....guluk...
