The pullout across from the Ranger's house is on the north side of the Narrows. Cross the dam and go a quarter mile. If there's no room or the path is too steep for you, drive on another half mile until you come to the Port Marina. That road isn't maintained, but is usually packed down by other vehicles enough to be passable.
At worst, there'll be a pickup owner who'll tow you back to the highway.

The cemetery point parking lot and the road are cleaned off and easily driven by car right now. First of this week caught 9 to 10 inch perch off the south side of the parking lot. Lot easier access than the Narrows.
Also, noticed the parking lot just before you get to the port ramp marina was open and a vehicle was parked in it. Didn't check it out, so can't say it will be open for sure.
Good luck!

This is very helpful as I have never fished there either. Does X mark the spot for 14" crappie and perch?

[#0000FF]Silly you. The first (free) map was only an enticement. The one with all the fish located...by species and size...is MUCH more.
The X marks are only generalized locations where fishing has been productive at times in the past. Every year is different...with different water levels, different fish sizes and populations, food resources, etc.
The best advice anyone could offer would be to watch the reports and look for areas that have been obviously well used. But don't count on finding a lot of fish in those areas. However, if you have a decent sonar make note of the depths and bottom conditions...and then look for something similar away from the crowds.
Pineview has a lot of fish and it can produce well. But as with all lakes it is often necessary to use the "biblical system"...seek and ye shall find (maybe).
Good luck.

That is generally my plan of attack. Have an idea of depth and general area and then get the heck away from everyone!

[#0000FF]Good plan. It has worked for me a lot of years. But it helps to have a good knowledge of the lake and the underwater contours and depths. Makes it easier to look for similar conditions.
Only problem with going off by yourself...and then finding a few fish...is that all of a sudden everybody else wants to be your new best friend. I have long since lost count of the number of times I have searched out a good spot...well away from everybody else...just for the solitude...and then ended up in the middle of a noisy city. People are sheep...sometimes very dumb and annoying sheep.
Crash. Just fell off my soapbox.

Pat,
What happens in a fish hut, stays in the fish hut!

[#0000FF]Some things are definitely best not "shared" with the rest of the world.
But if you are advocating for fishing with a tent, I gave up on that a long time ago. If the weather conditions are so bad I can't fish outside, I don't go. My style has always been to stay mobile. I drill a few holes in an area, sonar and work them hard and then move on if there is not enough action to justify staying and waiting them out.
Of course, once you find a good concentration of active fish it is nice to be able to set up a hut and stay more comfy. But over the years I would have caught far fewer fish if I had limited myself to fishing only the first area I set up. And there are days when I never do catch more than one here or there...or less.
However, I gotta admit that there have been more than a few times when I have envied the folks inside their protective shelters...even though I was catching fish outside in nasty conditions.

The solution is to yell out occasionally about your "lack" of success.
"Crap! Why can'I find them this year!" "Another 3"-er! Man!" "Why do I even come out here!"
Then when you catch fish, you have to pull some sleight of hand and slip it into a bucket or cooler all sneaky. Don't leave a carpet of them all over the ice around you.

[#0000FF]I never have understood why guys pile their fish up on the ice. First of all, it does not improve the quality of the fish. If you try to fillet them while frozen you make a mess of them. Second, I don't like to advertise to others that I am catching. Know what I mean?
Seriously, any fish that does not go right back down the hole I keep in a cooler...to keep them from freezing. And I know what I am catching. I feel no need to visually brag to others by spreading the fish around or piling them up next to the hole.
As far as shouting out anything, have you ever tried "You guys coming over here better watch out for the big soft spot in the ice. Already lost a guy, his two kids and a dog there today." That works even better if you can go over and knock a big hole in the ice to make it look more realistic. A kid's mitten left beside the hole is a nice touch too.

Well i did it. First time in 20 years. Thanks to all your help guys. Parking was fine both places. I parked at the marina? By ranger station? Anyway i did pretty well. Is there a way to not have to keep the small perch. Well to not bring it up so fast if its a small one and you can tell. Or what so you dont pop out his air bladder. I kept them all. They were hard to fillet. Thell die if you release them right
