Nate, great video and nice of you to share tips for others to be successful. I didn't see you use your ultra-light rod.[

Thanks for sharing your experience on Pelican.
That will help a lot of folks that are thinking about getting in to ice fishing. [signature]

Thanks Kent. I don't know what you're talking about, I always use UL rods - especially for sturgeon [

Great video Nate, how big were the LMB on average?

Standard Pelican Lake bass, about 13". I'm going again this weekend and I may see if I can get some bigger bass with a little different tactic. We'll see if it ends up in another video [cool]

Is that the showdown sonar you have?

It's the little brother, the ice troller, by Marcum. Great tool!

I had the impression the bluegills had all shrunk to tiny-sized out there, but those don't look too bad....maybe I'll drive out.

[bobhappy] Those are tiny compared to what they used to look like. There used to be a time when 8-10” bluegill were normal.

They do seem to be a little thicker as of late. Maybe the relaxed limits on Bluegill have had some good effect. The water quality seems to be much better as well. Visibility was over 6 feet deep.

Excellent video, liked the fact that the music was really in the background and I could hear the audio. Many educational tools provided, THANKS!!
I noticed that I never saw a setup rigged double, is that something you sometime do or don't do based on the location or target species? [signature]

Thanks DL! Double rigs are something I usually forget to tie up, especially when I go after perch. I hit myself for not doing it more. I like using them for panfish, but I guess one reason I don't use them as much as I used to is because I find myself switching lures a lot. I'm impatient and if the fish aren't biting, I assume it's my presentation so I switch it up. I never use doubles for bass or trout because the lures are bigger and often more expensive and I may lose one or both if it gets hung up on the ice during a fight. Just a personal preference thing.

Fishnate,
I really appreciate your videos. I’ve watch some others that you’ve posted over the last year and you do such a good job. I told my wife last night that I want to be you when I retire in a few years. Seriously! I’ve loved fishing since I was 3, and I’d fish or golf everyday if I had time. Keep up the great videos and what works! I’d love to run into you some time! Thx! [signature]

[blush] All I can say is, Thanks!!! That was very nice [blush]! Just for that, I'll try to make another one reasonably soon [cool]
