SLOW at Pineview 1/19, try again tomorrow?
#1
Pineview has given me three good perch days in the last two weeks. Then there was today.

Couldn't get out until 10 am or so, but by that time it was already dead, for the 5 groups I saw at Cemetery Point. North side and western tip coughed up four tiny 6-7" perch and that was it for 4 hours fishing.

Now, I have read, seen on TV, experienced, and read again, that fish often bite really well during, and just before, a cold front moves though. Personally my worst days for panfish seem to be when it's very cold, still, and socked in with high pressure/inversion, so I had decent hopes for today. I have had fishing bite well on sunny days, with a little wind blowing through, or when it is just a little unsettled.

Opinions? Worth a try again tomorrow? Better to hit a trout destination?

Very slow today, too. Only a few perch off the south side of Cemetery Point. Surprisingly, the best action was in just 20 feet of water.

20 feet is kind of surprising, but I guess they are where ya find em. How much snow did they get up there?

I talked to a guy that said they were doing good in as shallow as 14 ft last week, so they must move around a lot more than I thought too.[crazy]

Only 3 or 4 inches of snow.

Thanks, that's about what I thought might have fallen there. Glad it didn't snow there like it did here--we have over 12. Think I'll wait for the snow to settle a little and give it a shot
