I posted this at the end of a different string, I wanted to get a little more specific on conditions. I am taking my 80 yr old father and his friend with a bad knee out this next week. I was planning on going to lost dog as it appears it will have good ice. I would welcome other suggestions, but it seems like lost dog will have fairly easy access from the truck. How slick is the ice? Slipping and falling would be a bad idea for my dad or his friend. Any help all of you could give would be awesome.

I was up there on the 15th. It was extremely slick. Make sure you have ice cleats.

I was there this past Monday, and it was slick,
Do not plan on getting there from the West. Snow drifts and I could only get about 1/2 way. If you have a snowmobile, ok.
I helped pull out two Side by sides that got stuck trying to get in.
There was nobody on the Lost Dog day camp area. Possibly drifted snow.
After this weekends Bash, something might have opened up.
Plan on going up again this Mon. Fishing for pups was slow, slow.

Is there a way to get there from another direction? If we can't get there, is there another place to recommend?

Those are the only two ways that I know of. Down from Green River/West side, or down fron Rock Springs/East side.
All open water down to Manila as of Mon.
Talked to a couple of local guys who were going to try to fish back in the bay behind aerator by Buckboard for rainbows.
They said someone fell thru the ice by the Confluence.
Could be more reports showing up after the Burbot Bash. A lot of participants were using boats.
