As of Sunday February 11, most of the lake was open water. Only the west quarter of the lake had ice and I would expect it was very unstable. I'm not sure if these recent cold temps are building any significant ice.

I was out at Pelican on a float tube last Saturday. While we were there a boater launched and ran around the SW portion of the lake. Saw plenty of fish on the Garmin, but couldn't find anything they would hit. Water was 37 - 39 .

Didn't know if you were still around, haven't fished one of my favorite ice fishing lakes since it went down the toilet a few years back. I think they are planning on poisoning the lake some time this year and restock it. It most likely will never be the way it was back in the 70's with the giant gills.

Treatment is scheduled for fall 2018, but that is only one component of the restoration. They are working on several water quality issues, they will do some dredging and installing a series of fish screens to help prevent unwanted species from upstream. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be as good as it used to be, if they (DWR, BOR, BLM, water users and anglers) can overcome many of the current problems.

Will the treatment do away with the parasite problem?
