It's been a great year for me n my Kohorts. First year fishing for Kokanee the Strawberry way. Weve been fishing other waters for these spunky n tasty Salmon for years and knew it was time to try a new joint. Each trip we've taken has been successful with yesterday being no exception. We started with the typical pinks and Chartreuse which proved to be the ticket first thing. That color slowed just a tad so we decide to experiment just a bit for posterity sake. Ended up catching fish on black, gold, blue, & green. The black only caught Cutts but hey it produced some action. I think the only color to not catch yesterday was orange. Typical speeds of 1.3-1.9 mph at depths of 32-45'. We were limited out and off the water before 10am. Kudos to the DNR and anyone else involved with the Kokanee program on Strawberry and Utah as a whole. It's great to see such successes and have these kinds of expanding opportunity for some excellent fishing.
