I don't know if anyone else has posted this, but the person known here as PrinceFisher passed away a couple of weeks ago. He went into the hospital on a Thursday with "flu like symptoms." It wasn't until Sunday night that they figured out what the cause was. He had stage-4 cancer, some sort of lymphoma. Within a couple of hours he passed away. I worked with him for most of the last 15 years. We never worked closely together but we talked hunting and fishing all of the time. And I mean all the time. Pretty much daily.
He leaves behind 3 sons and a daughter. I don't know their exact ages. He had just gotten engaged to be married a few weeks prior.
I just wanted to share. I know he hadn't been real active here lately, but I know that he read a lot because we'd talk about post here regularly.

Thanks for passing that on, we wouldn’t have ever known what happened to him. Sad news for him and his family. We’ve had a few online interactions but I never met him, how old was he? Guess you never know what life has in store for us. Thanks for letting us know. Jeff

Yes, it is. To answer SkunkedAgain's question, he either just turned or was getting ready to turn 50.

Wait a second....was he engaged to a woman from Richfield? I think I know who he is...his would-be fiance works with my wife. What an awful turn of events for his family and her!

[#0000FF]I got to know and like Shawn about 10 years ago...before his messy family breakup situation. He introduced me to Salem Pond and I introduced him to float tubing...at Starvation. (see pics)[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]My memories of him are all positive...as a good friend, a serious angler and a great father. Didn't have too much interaction with him during and after the divorce devastation. But that does not lessen the sense of another untimely loss. Cancer has taken several of our BFTers and a few of my family and other friends the past couple of years. Sadness.

Many moons ago, I took Shawn fishing on my boat. He was a nice guy. So sorry to hear of him passing.

Thanks man that's too young to cash in your chips... Sad deal for them. But at least it sounds like he didn't have to suffer too long with the condition, so maybe that's a little consolation... Well hope the fish'en's better on the other side for him.. Later J

I watched my father-in-law and a cousin both fight long battles with cancer that they both knew were probably unwinnable from the beginning. Both lost. In Shawn's case, it was probably a blessing that it happened so quickly. I don't know what else could have been done to find it earlier since everyone I talked to said that he didn't have any real symptoms until about a week before his passing.
I feel really bad for his kids. Their parents went through a really nasty divorce, which Shawn never talked about at least with me, and then their dad is taken from them with no warning. I never talked to him about the divorce even though I knew it was really bad.
And the fishing has to be better on the other side.
