We are heading out to ice fish tomorrow, Saturday, 12/22/2018, somewhere. Our short list includes Echo, Mantua, Scofield, and Strawberry. Any suggestions which might be best and reasons why?

[#800000]Based on personal intel, I would suggest higher elevation lakes than Echo or Mantua. This warm weather is NOT doing us any favors with local lakes. Edges at Echo are getting VERY iffy. Woodruff (need chains or snowmobile to access), Birch Creek, or Little Creek would be better choices I would think. Good luck.[/#800000]

Based on your list, Strawberry wins. Best chance at good fish right now. Echo isnt a bad choice, but like dubob said the ice is suspect. Strawberry ice is growing. Just follow you're your own advice and check thickness as you go
