Got out about 0830 to the channel. Wind was initially calm, water temp 56F and warming to 58 by noon. When wind was calm, bass were chasing bait fish like summer time...I mean in the jumps. This went on for over an hour but they were not interested in traps or jerk bait. Caught a few on a blade but given the activity, I was very disappointed. Threw a swim bait but probably over sized and weighted. Should have used weightles and smaller. Caught a couple on a lizard. No big ones at all. Many boats. As a recent retiree, I’m surprised at the fishing activity during the week. I have to get to the PC ramp by 0800 to find a parking spot. The wind came up by 1000 (surprisingly from the north) and the jumps died down significantly. I probably would have done much better if I moved around more but it was good to be out with my bride!
