never been to grantville res. so i took a ride out there today had to walk 2/3 of the way around the lake before i could get on the ice because of 4' of open water and thin ice once i was on the ice 1145-115 and drilled a hole found 16" of clear ice and 2" of cloudy on top no slush started fishing in 24'of water where i hooked and lost a fish i then moved in to 15' and got a 17 1/2" brown trout left soon after that with no other bites there was one other fisherman there who left with 3

The problem with that lake is it is filling up and that is why you had some open water . Cool ! you caught a brown .

North Willow and South Willow creeks dump into there thru pipe line . They only let water out if it is full and going over the spillway or for irrigation season . Did you fish close to the channels were the water dumps in ?

I love to fish that little lake in the spring time. Huge crawdads, nice rainbows and you can get an entire rocky side to your self. Congratulations on the brown!! Out of the 14 years I've fished that lake your only the 3rd person I've herd of that has caught them.

Nice fish! I guess I just don't fish it right. Aparently browns don't go for power bait. Go figure. I didn't know that carp were added in there. I'll have to fish it more this year.

I don't bait fish , except to flavor jigs . I fish jigs and sometimes big rapalas there . I work with a guy that pulled a 11 pounder out if there , but that was about 10 years ago . My best day was 8 fish so it is not hot fishing for the browns there . My biggest was only 20" , but my buddy caught one around 24" with me one day .
