The problem with that lake is it is filling up and that is why you had some open water . Cool ! you caught a brown .

North Willow and South Willow creeks dump into there thru pipe line . They only let water out if it is full and going over the spillway or for irrigation season . Did you fish close to the channels were the water dumps in ?

I love to fish that little lake in the spring time. Huge crawdads, nice rainbows and you can get an entire rocky side to your self. Congratulations on the brown!! Out of the 14 years I've fished that lake your only the 3rd person I've herd of that has caught them.

Nice fish! I guess I just don't fish it right. Aparently browns don't go for power bait. Go figure. I didn't know that carp were added in there. I'll have to fish it more this year.

I don't bait fish , except to flavor jigs . I fish jigs and sometimes big rapalas there . I work with a guy that pulled a 11 pounder out if there , but that was about 10 years ago . My best day was 8 fish so it is not hot fishing for the browns there . My biggest was only 20" , but my buddy caught one around 24" with me one day .

to get to the reservoir take i-80 west take the toole off ramp drive south towards toole until you get to SR-138 and turn right stay on this road thur grantsville and turn left on 400 west stay on this road about 6 miles until you see a really tall dike on your right turn right down the paved roag and it will take you to level ground were you can walk out onto the ice if you do go take a board

and one more thing brown trout will eat power bait the two bites i got were on a 1" white power tube and rainbow power bait
