Wish the ice would make up its mind
#1
I like fishing first dam (Logan River) because its close. I have recently acquired a strong taste for ice fishing so I don't want the ice to leave. But I bought a canoe over the winter and can't wait for the ice to melt so I can try out the canoe. So I figure either way I'm happy. I can't lose right? Well Mother must not like me very much. The ice has only thinned out to "unsafe" and looks like it will stay this way for quite some time. I hope it goes one way or the other before spring break.

Sorry about all the whining but I feel better now.

One thing I want to try is sledding the canoe down a nice steep slope into the water. Anyone else game?

Please bring a rope so you can fish me out of the water when my canoe snaps in half when I reach the water. I'd appreciate it.

It might not be too bad on a more shallow slope (no sudden stop at the bottom). But whatever the case - the canoe is too dang heavy to haul up the side of a snow covered hill. But it does sound like fun. Watching someone else might be funner depending on if they make it or not.

I can imagine several scenarios that might happen in the whole event. Most are not good if riding in the canoe [Sad]but great fun to watch if a spectator[cool].

Heck, I'm always up for some good entertainment. Let us know when the event will take place and I'll bring the video camera!! Maybe you should make a jump at the waters edge so you can get a flat landing instead of a submarine action. Either way should be fun to see.

My uncle is a big time canoe fool. He's done snow canoeing in Washington just for kicks. I guess he's trying to relive his childhood or a mid-life crisis thing. Heck, he just built a new house and had another garage, bigger than the one for cars, just for his canoe's. I guess his absession is just as bad as out fishing addiction. I just wish he would quite sending me all his old salmon fishing crap, I have no use for it down here.

Try selling your idea to "Jackass" and you could make some money off of somebody getting hurt in a canoe.
