I was just asked to help instruct some school students at Echo on Monday. Any reports on the ice by the shore line? I think someone posted that they broke through going out the other day. Please let me know ASAP so we can be prepared. Thanks, DKSRenegade

I was there last week and the edges were bad tell about 5 feet out. If I were you I would take some wood to get across.

When I was there on Saturday there was at least 4 feet of thin ice between the shore and the ice cap not strong enough to hold a person. I had to just walk through it. The water wasn't too deep but I got one boot in over the top. Some places had 15 feet or more of thin ice so I had to walk a little bit to find a good place to cross. You'd be fine with a 2x6 to walk on or hip boots and there might even be a board in place over at the boat ramp since lots of people go over there.
