I fished up there with a couple of friends on Saturday evening. We started fishing about 4:30 and I caught a small rainbow before my jig hit the bottom. The weather was not the nicest with the wind and snow and the fishing was slow where we were. It was by far my slowest trip up there this year on the ice. We fished about 30 yards from shore straight west of the last cabins on the east side. The reason we fished there is because there was a lot of snow and we didn't want to walk very far in it with who we had with us. All my other trips up there this year have been in the morning and have been good, fun trips. Get up there as early as you can, we were always starting to fish before the sun even came up. The fish would bite good until the sun came up and hit the ice and then somebody flipped the switch and it was slow and go from then on out. We tried everything from jigs, to powerbait, to tubes, and everything in between. I heard a rumor that spawn sacks are doing really good up there. I tried one without any luck. The fish I caught were on a shrimpo and one on powerbait. The other fish my friends caught were on a white curly tail and one on powerbait.
Let us know how you do when you go and good luck. When we went there was about a foot of snow on the ice and only about an inch of slush. [signature]
