Anyone have any updates on when/what kinds of fish will be planted back in to the ponds in Kaysville? It looks like all the work is complete...now we just need some fish!

The typical planting that the DWR likes to use is cat fish, large mouth bass, blue gill and seasonal trout. Drew Cushing is the urban fishing specialist for the DWR and that is what he is proposing for the new pond in Roy. These fish balance each other out and stay under control in pond conditions. Also a typical limit will be 4 fish of any combination per day. These ponds will be a great asset to our communities and I hope to see good support from our local anglers in keeping them up and running. There will also be opportunities for adult fishing instructors to teach our youth how to fish. I hope that many of the BFT folks will be able to help with such a good cause. DKS

I hope they stock it soon. I used to take my son and grandson there for a little afternoon fishing. It was close and they could always catch some gills. I would like to start taking my grandaughter there also. Alot of good days were spent fiahing that pond.

We are building a pond where a park once was. The ground was always too wet from ground water to be a good ball park, so we are putting it back into a wet land. It is located on the Howard Slough at 4200 W. 5075 S. in West Roy. It will be about 4 acres of pond with a walking path going through it. The pond is under construction currently and will be ready to fish on Jan 1 2005. The proclamation must have the pond listed in it, with the fishing regulations pertaining to that specific pond identified, before we can open it to fishing. Roy City is building a new park complex to the south of this location, to replace the park that was converted into the pond. This will be a great addition to the area ,for all to enjoy. DKSRenegade
