One or my best days.
#1
Took Sparky (my guard dog) back to my moose spot on the Web yesterday afternnoon. Kept an eye open for monster moose but only saw old tracks and pooh. Fishing was about as good as it can get for me although the catching wasn't. What was so great was the fish were so big that I had 5 separate break offs because of size, and charging into brush, rocks, etc., sticky drag with 5 1/2 lb. leader strength. Was able to land only two of the monsters, one at 19 in and one at 21 in. Caught several at 13 - 16 in. Didn't catch one white????? Lots of dead deer! High winter kill this year.

Thanks for the report Leaky...glad you didn't run into any killer moose this time around! Were all the fish you landed Browns?

Is that stretch of river private? I think you mentioned that you belong to a club or something?

Sure sounds like a great day on the Weber, it was a beautiful day yesterday. I was afraid this would be a bad winter for the deer but you are the first to say that you have seen a lot of dead deer. WH2

fishmagnet,

Yea, it's private but I've also had great success above Echo. They've had a lot of damege, silt, etc. at the club about 1 1/2 years ago that really hurt the fishing but I thought I'd try to see if it was coming back. Looks like it is. Good fishing.

Leaky,

So were is this club and are they still taking new members. How much river do they control and how many people are usually there fishing. Would'nt mind paying for a little more private fishing experence.

About 10 years ago, when the last big winter kill happened there were a lot of dead deer on the road side, heading to Lost creek. I guess time will tell how bad this winter was on the deer. WH2
